The Samsung Galaxy Fold is now receiving a January security patch, the same day it received the Google Pixels and the PH-1 core. This time, the basic Pixel and PH-1 weren't the first devices to receive this update.
In fact, some Samsung devices recently acquired it. The company started rolling out this update to the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series devices a few days ago.
Now, the January security patch isn't the same for the basic Galaxy Fold, Google Pixels, and PH-1. Although most of them are the same, Essential and Samsung have made some changes for their devices. For Galaxy Fold the model number is “F900FXXS2ASL6”. For PH-1 Basic, this version comes as "QQ1A.200105.007".
Google Pixel phones have a different build number. See the image below the article for more information.
Galaxy Foldable month security patch brings some fixes for Samsung
In its report, Samsung stated that the update "fixes critical vulnerabilities that were discovered in the Android operating system, along with a number of very severe and moderate security vulnerabilities." It also fixes 17 Samsung vulnerabilities and exposure (SVE), for Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
Samsung also noted that one of these vulnerabilities allowed for lock screen password attacks on devices with Exynos 7885, 8895, and 9810 processors.
Now, for Essential PH-1, the changelog lists only the January security patch, and some audio enhancements for the device.
Google is applying its own security update to eight Pixel phones
This security update is currently rolling out to Google Pixel 2, 2 XL, 3, 3XL, 3a, 3a XL, 4, and 4 XL. So, Google has implanted this update into eight devices at the moment.
The changes aren't the same for all devices, though. Each group of devices received their own set of changes. Some of these changes are available for more Pixel phones, and some are single-generation.
So, for example, a color-switching fix was released in the lower brightness of the Pixel 4 and 4 XL. This is the only phone where this change is available. Not the only change released for the device.

Updates for the Google Pixel phones, the base PH-1, and the Galaxy Fold are rolling out. In all three cases, these updates are updated in stages. In other words, these updates may not be available to the devices immediately.
