HTC re-entered India and launched its Wildfire X smartphone, and it was officially announced

After exiting the Indian smartphone market last July, HTC teased its re-entry into India two days ago with the launch of a waterdrop-style smartphone. Well, this phone is Wildfire X and it has been officially announced. However, the smartphone was not manufactured by HTC, and it was manufactured by a China-based company called InOne Smart Technology, which licensed the brand for the Indian market.

Powered by the Helio P22 SoC, HTC Wildfire X runs Android Pie, and comes in two memory configurations - 3GB / 32GB and 4GB / 128GB. It also has a microSD card slot that allows for storage expansion up to 256GB.

The smartphone is designed around a 6.2-inch HD + display and promises an 88.8% screen-to-body ratio. It has a small roof top that houses an 8MP selfie camera. The back of the phone has an OPVD 3D mirror and is home to the fingerprint scanner and triple camera setup.

These single units are: 12 MP main, 8 MP telephoto (2x optical zoom), and a 5 MP depth sensor.

HTC Wildfire X also comes with an extension called "MyBuddy," which is a distress companion that can trigger loud alarms in dangerous situations as well as share your live location with family and friends. It can also transmit audio and video from its surroundings in real time. As a bonus, it can be used to locate your misplaced phone.

Wildfire X has a 3,300mAh battery and is offered in a single color - Sapphire Blue.

The smartphone is priced at INR 10,999 ($ 155 / € 140) for the 3GB / 32GB model, while the 4GB / 128GB version costs you INR 1,313 ($ 195 / € 175). However, for a limited time, both options will be available at under 1,000 INR ($ 14 / € 13). You will be able to pick one in India from Flipkart August 22nd.

In addition to the standard one-year warranty, Wildfire X comes with a 6-month no-questions accidental damage protection and free pick-and-drop service.
