This Galaxy Tab A 8 (2019) is already available for purchase in Malaysia through a third-party retailer for RM 599 ($ 144) after an 8 percent discount. It remains to be seen if Samsung will launch it in other countries in the coming weeks. You can take a closer look at the tablet in the unboxing tag video linked below.

Samsung is preparing to launch a new, low-cost tablet as part of the Galaxy Tab A series. According to WinFuture's report, there will be two versions of the tablet; One with model number SM-T290 which will be limited to Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as an LTE-enabled variant known as SM-T295. It runs Android 9 Pie, so it's nice to know One UI will be part of the experience.
Low resolution screen and adapter to Qualcomm for SoC

All the alleged specifications place the upcoming Galaxy Tab A 8 (2019) in the low-end category. It retains the 8-inch diagonal and 16:10 aspect ratio display of the Galaxy Tab A Plus 8 that was launched earlier this year but has a low-resolution display with 1280 x 800 pixels. About, having a large bezel in each A place, but that's to be expected from a product that's supposed to target the budget market.

Samsung also appears to have switched from its internal Exynos chipset to Qualcomm's low-end solution, the Snapdragon 429. The SoC has four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz and GPU Adreno 504 with Vulkan 1.1 support. It was the company's first SoC to build on the 12nm FinFET process and support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
Affordable across the board but a bigger battery is included

The upcoming budget Galaxy Tab A 8 (2019) is said to have 2GB RAM and at least 32GB of storage expandable via a microSD card slot. There may be other storage variants available at launch, but as of now it is not clear if this is the case.

Unsurprisingly, the camera setup has also undergone a cut from the previous 2019 model. The backend module might still have an 8MP resolution, but the front sensor notch has been downgraded to 2MP. Other expected features include a 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity instead of Bluetooth 5.0. A plastic object will wrap around the ingredients and the entire package should flip the scale at about 347g.

There is at least one area where the low-cost Galaxy Tab A 8 (2019) has been improved, and that's battery capacity. The upcoming model is said to be based on a unit of 5,100mAh, which is a significant increase over the internal battery of 4,200mAh.

The tablet should be officially introduced in the coming days, according to the source, and it will be launched in two color options including black and gray.
