Samsung Tab Active series from powerful Samsung tablets may soon get a new member. The company filed a trademark application for "Tab Active Pro" at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) earlier this week. Samsung launched the powerful Galaxy Tab Active 2, the latest in the series, in October 2017.
The trademark application was filed by a London-based law firm called Fieldfisher LLP on June 13. This company has filed trademark requests on behalf of Samsung in the past as well, including those for the Dynamic AMOLED display on the Galaxy S10 lineup and the Rize series of smartphones (which remain a mystery).
Galaxy Tab Active Pro is a trademark
The Galaxy Tab Active 2 arrived with an 8-inch 1200 x 800 display about two years ago. MIL-STD-810 has a rating of IP68 for water and dust resistance. It is powered by 1.6GHz Exynos 7880 processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB storage. The Tab Active Pro should be its successor, if and when it launched. The 'Pro' in the name indicates that it may be the most expensive and most powerful tablet in the series to date.
Unfortunately, we don't have any reliable reports or rumors about Tab Active Pro yet. However, Samsung is introducing a promotional offer for the Tab Active 2 in several markets right now, which indicates that a successor may be around the corner. Launching the Galaxy Note 10 event sometime in August seems like your best bet at the moment.
