Destiny 2 is now free and Shadowkeep announced, expanded, and supported

Prior to E3 2019, Bungie made some major announcements regarding the spectacular FPS game, Destiny 2. Bungie revealed the next major expansion for Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, which is the successor to the Forsaken expansion that arrived last year. Moreover, Destiny 2 is moving from the Battle.net platform and will soon arrive on Steam. Additionally, Bungie announced that Destiny 2 will support cross-save process across supported platforms such as PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Google's Stadia game streaming service. Finally, but perhaps most importantly, with the arrival of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, the base game - including all-year content - will be free and can be used as Destiny 2: New Light.

Starting with the Shadowkeep expansion, not much is known about the storyline except that he will take the heroes to the moon and will mark the return of a character named Eris Morne. "Return to the Moon. Journey deep into the enemy's mysterious castle. Help Iris slay these nightmares before she reaches beyond the moon to bring humanity back to the Dark Age," reads Fate 2: Shadowkeep's description on the Bungie website.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep arrives on September 17, and is now available for pre-purchase on supported platforms such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The new expansion will be available in three packages - Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Standard Edition, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Digital Deluxe Edition, and Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Collector's Edition. The latter is priced at $ 149.99 (approx.10,400 rupees) and includes new missions, quests, destinations and dungeons up to Shadowkeep expansion, four-season passes, exclusive Eris Morn design items, and a Destiny 2 Deluxe Edition digital code.

Speaking of availability, the game's arrival on Steam is big news, and Bungie is expected to help out more new players. Previously, Destiny 2 was available on the Battle.net platform, but in the wake of Bungie acquiring Destiny franchises from Activision earlier this year, the game developer is now free to move away from Activision Blizzard's Battle.net platform and move to the green steamy pastures. . Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will arrive on Steam on September 17. but this is not all. Bungie will allow players to transfer "current characters, gear, and progression from Blizzard's Battle.net to Steam."

But Bungie isn't just convinced of Destiny 2's arrival on Steam, the developer also wants to connect more players to the game. To that end, the base Destiny 2 game will be free to play as Destiny 2: New Light. The new game avatar will be shown on September 17 to players on all supported platforms.

Destiny 2: New Light is set to offer all the content that arrived within the game's first year of arrival such as co-op missions, competitive modes, challenging endgame activities, and more. With this move, the base game is free to play, and all other expansions (and other content released later) will be available on a paid basis. Players also do not need to own previous expansions to play new expansions. Notably, Destiny 2 went free to PC users for a short time last year after BlizzCon.

Finally, Bungie also announced that Destiny 2 will support cross-platform saves, including PCs, Xbox, PlayStation and Stadia for streaming Google games. In case you were wondering, Destiny 2 has already been confirmed as Stadia's arrival, with Shadowkeep and Destiny 2 expanded: the kit reportedly introduced with the Stadia Pro service. As for cross-saving support, well, it will help players to keep track of guardians and progress from platform to platform, be it Google Stadia, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC version.

It was rumored that cross-support for PlayStation 4 was questionable, but this has now been officially confirmed. "Contrary to what you may have heard online, the cross-save feature is coming on all platforms: PS4, Xbox, PC, and Stadia. Bungie and Sony have moved together to ensure that Save Save comes to PS4 when Shadowkeep launches," About Destiny General Manage Mark Noseworthy saying in the latest stream of Destiny 2 by Bungie.
