Oppo unveiled Find X last June with a Snapdragon 845 SoC, a lower-notch screen and three cameras on a sliding mechanism. We were wondering if the Chinese phone company would announce its successor, and in a discussion with Oppo, we were told that Find X2 will come in the first quarter of 2020.

Find X2 will be powered by the newly announced Snapdragon 865 SoC, and the company said there will be a lot of focus on the phone screen - it will have a higher resolution, higher refresh rate, better colors and a wider dynamic range compared to its predecessor.

The smartphone will also feature a camera with Sony's new multi-directional PDAF technology, which is basically a dual pixel technology that works with both vertical and horizontal details. You can go this way to find out more about it.

Oppo hasn't revealed anything else about Find X2, but it has confirmed that the Find and Reno series will continue to coexist.

Oppo will unveil its Reno3 lineup on December 26, and although we don't have a specific date for the launch of Find X2, it's not far away now.
