Some of the company's old games will appear from the discontinued Wii console on the Nvidia Shield set-top box in China.
Historically, Nintendo rarely licensed original games and characters to rival console makers.
The Japanese giant is not currently selling its latest console, the Nintendo Switch, in China.
The video game market in China was valued at $ 24 billion (£ 18 billion) in 2016.
However, most people play on personal computers or mobile devices, despite China relaxing its rules on selling foreign consoles in 2014.
Among the Nintendo games available on Nvidia's armor are The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, first released in 2006, and New Super Mario Bros Wii, from 2009.
Nintendo has not previously released games for consoles other than its own devices. However, I have experimented with mobile games like Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
The Wii titles that will be released for NVIDIA Shield will have their graphics upgrade to high definition and will now be streamed through the NVIDIA GeForce platform.
"Nvidia has a well-established partnership with Nintendo by supplying a Tegra X1 processor to be used in the Switch console. This content package is an extension of that relationship and offers benefits to both parties," said Piers Harding Rolls, of technical consultancy IHS Markit.
"The deal allows Nintendo to test out older content on the Chinese consumer and accumulate useful data on the use of those games. For Nvidia, it gives the platform some exclusive content and well-known games to start its sales in the region."
