Debut at IAA 2019 in Frankfurt is the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS offering a stylish and dynamic exterior design

Debuting at IAA 2019 in Frankfurt, the Mercedes-Benz EQS vision is a futuristic union of innovations. It offers a stylish and dynamic exterior, a luxurious and sustainable interior inside, and an overall emotional and rational mobility experience - all while using a renewable energy source. As a vision show car, the design highlights what to expect in the luxury large electric saloons of the German brand in the near future.

With extended proportions, the sculpted exterior view of the EQS is defined by a prominent, continuous "light strap" at shoulder level, then splits the color scheme in two shades of silver and navy blue. An impression of black panel glass flows seamlessly from the striking EQ grille to the finish. Up front, the DIGITAL LIGHT headlights - each with two 3D lens modules - offer an almost unlimited number of shapes. In the back, 229 luminous stars make up the Light Belt.

Likewise, the car's interior continues the aesthetic of progressive luxury with sculpted shapes. With the influence of yachting, the cabin features a flowing design where the instrument panel blends completely with the front end body. The floating architecture surrounds its occupants in a comfortable personal space. The interior is then manufactured from a blend of both traditional and technically advanced sustainable materials. Made from recycled PET bottles, DINAMICA uses microfiber in white crystal along with maple trim. Likewise, the roof liner is created "using a volume of recycled ocean waste plastic".

As demonstrated at IAA 2019, Mercedes-Benz's EQS interior vision is immersive with the use of technology-enhanced sustainable materials. For example, digital content can be experienced on the entire front-end dashboard surface. The detailing points then include the air vents integrated into the cutting element such as the linings and intricate headphone covers washed in rose gold and the fragrance flacon topped with a jewel-like stand.

Building on EQC innovations - the brand's first production EV, electric motors feature front and rear axles and the battery integrated into the floor. It offers 350 kW of output and 760 Nm of torque, ensuring the car accelerates from 0-62 mph (100 km / h) in less than 4.5 seconds. With a range of 466 miles (750 km), the car can recharge from 0-80% in less than 20 minutes with a 350 kW charger. The responsible mercedes me app encourages and directs customers to charge "green" energy at specific stations.
