Samsung and Huawei are striving to enter the era of foldable phones with the Galaxy Fold and Mate X, LG has taken a slightly different approach.
When the company launched the LG V50 ThinQ last year, it released an additional screen case attached to the phone resulting in a temporary foldable phone. The dual screen document case comes with a 6.2 inch OLED panel and allows users to use a secondary screen for multitasking, playing games or taking photos.
LG is now looking to take advantage of that with the upcoming V60 ThinQ release, which will be announced at IFA Berlin in September. The company released a teaser short hint at the benefit of the second show. When the company launched the LG V50 ThinQ last year, it released an additional screen case attached to the phone resulting in a temporary foldable phone. If you look closely, you will notice that the second display has the same screen size as the actual phone. This will be a step up from the general secondary premiere that comes with a smaller, thicker bezel. Additionally, the 2nd generation display case will also have a small external display for notifications, time and date.
Although we do not have more details now, we expect more news about the upcoming LG device before it is announced on the sixth of September in Berlin.
