Apple $ 300 million purchases on New Year's Eve

Apple confirmed that customers worldwide made more than $ 300 million in purchases on the store during New Year's Day. The week beginning on Christmas Eve proved to be a lucrative period for the company, with record numbers of people downloading apps and games from the store. They spent more than $ 890 million during these seven days.

The tech giant achieved these feats thanks to the success of popular games and apps such as Monument Valley 2, King of Glory, Quiet and Close-Up Picture, Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga, Inlet VideoLab, 1Password and Hulu.

Last September, the company unveiled a redesigned version of the App Store, which claims to have made finding apps and games easier and more fun. Currently, about half a billion people visit the store every week.

"Today's tab on the new store makes it easier to discover new apps and games with columns including the app of the day and the game of the day," the company explained.

Pokemon Go has been one of the most downloaded apps on Christmas, and it uses the latest version of Apple's Arkite to create more dynamic real-world gameplay.

According to Apple, the app catapulted to the top of the store on December 21 after the launch of several new augmented reality features.

It has seen a huge hit to Apple, as customers have access to about 2,000 Arkite-enabled applications. The company said these applications span a large number of categories.

"Among the most popular AR titles are games like CSR Racing 2, Stack R and Kings of the Pool. Shopping apps like Amazon and Weaver. Education apps including Night Sky, Thomas and Friends Minis. And social media apps including Beto and Snapchat." Camel.

Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple, praised the app development community for contributing to these milestones.

“We are pleased with the reaction to the new store and see a lot of customers discovering and enjoying new apps and games,” he said

"We want to thank all the creative app developers who made these amazing apps and helped change lives. In 2017 alone, iOS developers earned $ 26.5 billion - more than a 30% increase compared to 2016."
